De afgelopen 2 weken is er hard gewerkt in onze achtertuin. Door onszelf he! Het liefst zouden we een hovenier inhuren die de hele achtertuin leegtrok en alles betegelde want wij zijn het type mensch: ” wij houden erg van de tuin maar aan tuinieren hebben we een hekel”.
Ik vind het echt niet erg (en misschien ook wel best leuk) om hier en daar een onkruidje te trekken of een struikje te snoeien hoor. Maar wij willen geen tuin die je vreselijk “moet bijhouden”.
Helaas paste die hovenier niet ons budget (of wij niet in die van hem) dus gingen we zelf aan de slag.
Vorig jaar leek het ons nog een goed idee om alle borders vol te storten met boomschors. Lekker natuurlijk. Maar de laatste zak was nog niet uitgestrooid of we hadden er al spijt van. Het spul waait je hele tuin door en luistert niet al je lief vraagt of het alsjeblieft IN de bordertjes wil blijven liggen. Na een jaar was er bijna geen boomschors meer te zien maar was alles bosgrond geworden. We konden een boswandeling maken door onze eigen achtertuin!
Afijn, ik heb in mijn uppie wel 25 grote tuinafvalzakken gevuld met schors. En Lief de rest. We hebben net zolang geschept tot we weer alleen maar worteldoek overhadden. Met mijn kleine Peugeotje 107 hebben we ál die zakken afgevoerd. Wat een werk!
Nu is de tuin leeg en wordt er aanstaande donderdag mooi donkergrijs “grind” geleverd. (is geen grind maar ik weet even niet meer hoe het wel heet. Split geloof ik).
Mijn handige Lief heeft de schutting aan beide kanten donkergrijs gebeitst en maakte achterin de tuin een prachtige grote bloembak.

Ik ben er zo blij mee! Gisteren kochten we plantjes en vulden we onze nieuwe aanwinst!

    Wat heb je dat mooi gedaan. Lijkt mij heerlijk om zo op terras te zitten omringd door bloemetjes. Volgens mij ga je er nog veel van genieten. 😉
